Just a Little Disco on an Open-Top Bus by Candy Guard

I didn't think I would like this book, when I opened it up and saw the cartoons inside, by the author. But they really worked, in the context of a funny, true and sad 1980s-based kind-of chick-lit, but chick-lit for the Royle Family or Shameless, rather than Bridget Jones.

I am actually going to quote something that made me laugh out loud... or I was, until I couldn't find it in the book. Anyway, it made me laugh out loud, there's praise. But like everything these days, too bloody short. Should start reading classic literature, like Edie, the protagonist of this book, because it's really getting dispiriting getting through so many paperbacks.
