Triumphs!!

At last!! I have been promoted! I got told unofficially today. I am soon to be a Senior Editorial Assistant and get a measly payrise! Hurrah! However, this doesn't mean that my career woes are over, far from it. Today, a job was posted on the work intranet that has me torn, and I have my appraisal on Monday (postponed from Thursday).

I have also managed to network the laptop and desktop so that I can share files (oh yes! I rock!!) and this meant that through the miracle of modern technology, I have also been able to install Microsoft Office. So now I have programs on my laptop. Which I love, by the way. I love it I love it I love it. So that was a second triumph!

I have had a twitch under my left eye for the past couple of days. I finally cracked and looked up online today what that means: anxiety. I am stressed, and with good reason, I hasten to add, being promoted at work, appraisals, general all round lots of work to do, Sunday, and then the rest of my life to think about. Of course, I haven't done the one thing I can and should do: pray for the twitch to be healed.

I heard the loveliest story on the radio today, about an apple tree. I found it rather inspiring, indeed!!

Very exciting!!!

I'm using my new laptop infront of the telly! Hurrah!! Loving the ebay bargain. I would have taken a picture of my new, small, cute laptop, designated for sofa-and-bed-browsing. But my camera is on the blink. Not sure why. Battery issues.

Small health related whinge: I hope I am not coming down with something. When I got home I had a terrible headache, but two ibuprofen and a large glass of white grenache solved that, but now I have a sore ear, and yesterday Isabelle and I had a walk outside, and I didn't cover my head or my ears. It would serve me right if I got a headcold. However, I presume that this woozy feeling is the result of mixing mild medication and mild wine. It's rather pleasant. However, I have to stay awake! ER is on, and Isabelle needs it recording!!

I'm waiting for the DVD/CD drive to arrive tomorrow; I don't mind it not being integral, but I decided it would be useful to have one. Until then, the only things I've changed on this cute little machine are superficial: desktop background (to cheerful yellow tulips), sounds turned off, oh, and I downloaded Mozilla. I hate internet explorer (who doesn't?)

Hmmm, my screen is brighter when plugged in than when not. That's annoying. More battery issues. Can I change that? Neil? Neil? (Only kidding, poor brother has spent all weekend answering queries about computers for Dad, who used Maxene's granddad dying as a useful occasion for Neil to come home and cure his computer issues. His issues are: he is rubbish.)

I am ashamed to admit that, thanks to Isabelle, I have been watching Eastenders and liking it. Tomorrow, it's Holby, and the horror will be complete.
